There are several steps that are taken to bring Quietdrive into a school setting:
- There are two paths that can be taken to nominate a school:
- Students wanting to nominate their schools to participate in the "Quietdrive in School" program should fill out a
nominiation form.
- School administrators/teachers should fill out the nomination form and indicate in the "Where Would QD Perform"
field (1) their position/role at the school and (2) that all approvals have been obtained.
- The applications are reviewed based on proximity of the school to up coming tour stops or the band's travel routes between their concerts. Typically,
schools within an hour of the concert venue and within two weeks of the concert date are given consideration.
- The "Quietdrive in School" coordinator (email id: quietdrivehighschool) contacts the person who submitted the nomination within 1-2 weeks informing them of the status of their
application.
- Students whose school meets the proximity/timing conditions are notified as quickly as possible that their nomination has been accepted so they can engage their principal, activities director,
or performing arts teachers to obtain permission to bring the band into the school.
- Students whose school does not currently meet the conditions are added to a master file that is reviewed when additional tour stops are added to the band's schedule. They
will be contacted should their status change.
- After approvals have been obtained, the school proposes a schedule of activities they would like the band to engage in during their visit. Early morning events should be avoided.
- The proposed schedule is then reviewed with the band and their tour manager and, if necessary, changes are sent back to the school before the event is booked.
